Indian Restaurant in West Bromwich
Legends is coming to West Bromwich High Street, a few minutes from the Metro stop and the bus station. Charcoal grills, overnight marinades and the kind of Indian food this town has always done better than anywhere else. The opening date will be announced shortly.
What we actually do
Everything that can go over the coals does. Lamb chops sit in a twelve hour marinade before they ever see the grill. Chicken tikka comes off charred at the edges and still soft in the middle. Breads come straight out of the tandoor while it is still running hot.
The curries are cooked down properly rather than assembled from a base gravy. Punjabi lamb curry is rich and traditional. Butter chicken uses tandoori chicken rather than boiled, which is the whole difference. Lamb saag brings spinach and spice to tender lamb.
Where we are
We are at 28 to 32 High St, West Bromwich, B70 6JT. The Metro stop is a short walk and there is parking nearby. If you are coming from Birmingham, the tram drops you almost at the door.
Booking a table
Walk ins are welcome and we keep space back for them, but Friday and Saturday fill up and match days go quickly. Booking takes a minute and means the table is there when you arrive.
Eating well whatever you eat
Vegetarian and vegan dishes get a section of their own rather than a token line at the bottom. Paneer tikka, chilli paneer, garlic chilli mushrooms and veg manchurian all come off the same kitchen with the same care. Plant based seekh kebabs and veg chilli chicken cover the vegan side.
